Kommunekraft AS was founded 4. March 1996 and is organized as a limited company (Ltd). The company is owned by 130 of Norway’s hydroelectricity-producing municipalities and 8 county councils.
The main purpose of this company is to convey the concession power on behalf of the shareholders (the municipalities and the county councils) for the best commercial conditions in the open market.
Non-profit
Kommunekraft AS was established by the municipalities and the county councils in order to receive advice and guidance from a company with a professional good expertise. Kommunekraft AS does not have any gains or interest in the deals being signed. The company is therefore a non-profit company. Thus there is no economic surplus for its own benefit.
What kinds of agreements are provided by Kommunekraft AS?
Kommunekraft AS gives assistance to the shareholders (municipalities and county councils) in cases where municipalities want to sell power within permanent power contracts. The company also assists municipalities to enter into agreements for the management of physical power, allthough it is not part of the agreement itself.
